Women, take the call!
written by Christine Houston

From many years’ experience as an executive search consultant, I know I can call a male executive about an opportunity and, almost without exception, he will take the time to listen.  Even if he ultimately is not interested, he will generally try to be helpful and, if asked, will suggest names of friends or colleagues who might be interested…

Introducing Executive Strategies Group International
Executive Search Group International Announces New Name to Reflect Core Offering
Emphasising Strategic Executive Advisory at the Centre of Its Business

HONG KONG: February 8, 2021 – Executive Search Group International (‘ESGI’) announced today it has changed its name to Executive Strategies Group International to better reflect the company’s evolution and deep client focus. ESGI, long known for its strategic advisory and long-term client relationships, will continue to use the ESGI acronym. Although the name of the company has changed to Executive Strategies Group International, for marketing and branding purposes the company will continue to use ESGI as well as its new name. As part of the name change, ESGI has also refreshed its website www.esgintl.com.

Christine Houston, Founder and Managing Director explained, “Our new name highlights what has always been at the core of our business. Since its founding in 1998, we have become known for our relationship-based approach and unique ability to provide senior leaders with unequalled strategic advice and support. For some time now, we have been considering a change to our name to better reflect how we have evolved as a long-term partner and advisor to our clients.

“We’ve been writing our story for 23 years, and after many years working with some of the world’s most impressive organisations, like our clients, we have grown and evolved. With strong growth forecast to return to our markets, now is the ideal time to announce our new name. Executive Strategies Group International carries forward our heritage and sets out our commitment to our current and future clients to be their strategic partner.”

At ESGI we work with senior leaders from across the financial services, private equity and professional services sectors to achieve their goals and shape the next generation of talent for their organisations. As a female-led, relationship-based organisation, we bring a different perspective to understanding our clients and their business objectives, visions, and cultures. We partner with clients over the longer term and not just on the job at hand. Our clients rely on us to identify a diverse group of professionals who possess the skills and talents required to achieve both their immediate goals and future ambitions

In congratulating Executive Strategies Group International on the announcement Steve Bernstein, Managing Director, Lone Star Funds said, “When I think of describing ESGI the words Professional, Determined and Partnership come to mind. They treat our searches like their own. Before the process begins, they probe to get full information and facts for the job description. Nothing is left to chance. Most importantly they understand the criticality of discretion, negotiation and timing.”

Daniel Dowd, Managing Director, Head of Research, UBS, “Christine is a diversity expert, evidenced in her work with us to effectively engage female diversity professionals. She has a consistent track record in being able to persuade professionals to meet for exploratory conversations. These efforts resulted in the ability to acquire the talent we have needed to achieve both short-term growth and deliver on our long-term strategic direction.”

Mr Huynh Thanh Phong, Group CEO, FWD added, “We have worked with Christine and her team for years as we have grown our business, not just to recruit for specific roles but much more strategically. Christine and her team have partnered with us to work at the most senior levels across our footprint spanning through North and Southeast Asia. Their connectivity in our sector is both wide and deep and they are very effective in engaging with professionals, always acting with complete discretion.”

Ms Houston concluded, “We believe in working closely with our clients and strive for long-term relationships. We have worked with many leaders over the years. As they face social, economic, and political and environmental challenges, they know we will be there to help them build representative and diverse organisations and strategies to empower their business and organisational success.
