OUR PROCESS... At ESGI we believe that search is a combination of science and art.

When a client entrusts us to partner with them to build their management teams, the "science" we employ consists of completely understanding our clients organization and then using a consistent methodology to thoroughly review the market for talent, not only in the region in which the role is to be based but where the best talent resides.

"Art" is required because every client has a unique culture and set of values; even though two professionals might possess essentially the same skill set does not mean both will be a good fit within a particular organization. Because we build in-depth relationships with our clients we are able to instinctively understand the type of professional who will be the most effective addition to the organization.

For all of our assignments, while serving as a trusted advisor to our clients, we maintain the following process:

PRELIMINARY CONSULTATION

We work closely with the client to understand their company background, specific business goals, industry dynamics, position requirements and any other issues relevant to the assignment. Within this dialogue, ESGI helps the client to refine their recruitment objectives.

POSITION SPECIFICATION, STRATEGY AND ACTION PLAN

ESGI creates a detailed position specification, outlining the nature and responsibilities of the role, all particular skill requirements and the compensation package offered. Based on our market intelligence and our experience with other relevant assignments, we develop and agree with our client on the search strategy (industry, company and geographical coverage) that is most likely to deliver superior candidates. At this point, we also confirm the timing of all steps required to ensure the client's needs are met in a timely manner without compromising the quality of the assignment.

CANDIDATE IDENTIFICATION AND REVIEW

ESGI develops a comprehensive target list of qualified candidates through a combination of research, data mining, and networking. ESGI then evaluates potential candidates to confirm the most qualified via face to face interviews and conduct confidential reference checks. A select slate of the best candidates, along with detailed background reports will then be presented to the client. While we will review and discuss a number of names with our client during the search process, our goal is to present three to five highly qualified professionals so our client will have a choice but not be overburdened with too many interviews.

CLIENT INTERVIEWS AND CANDIDATE EVALUATIONS

Ensuring both the client and the candidates are fully briefed, ESGI arranges for the parties to meet. Immediately following the client interviews, ESGI works to thoroughly understand the feedback from each side to support the assessment and strategy for further meetings.

OFFER NEGOTIATIONS AND ADDITIONAL REFERENCE CHECKS

A thorough knowledge of compensation and benefit trends in the client's industry helps ESGI serve as a valuable intermediary during the critical offer phase. In addition to facilitating a final offer, ESGI conducts reference checks, as appropriate.

FEEDBACK AND FOLLOW UP

At ESGI, our relationship with both the client and the candidate is ongoing. As a responsible liaison between the parties, ESGI maintains contact to ensure a smooth transition. We always seek feedback from the clients we serve as well as the candidates we interface with on their behalf. Ongoing performance feedback from clients and follow-up with candidates provide us with important perspectives on how we can best serve our clients.
