Thomas J. Gentile
Executive Director

Thomas Gentile is an Executive Director at ESGI based in the New York City office.   He joined ESGI from Gentile Associates where he was the founding Partner responsible for the development and execution of senior-level search assignments.  His practice has been specialty based with concentrations in the areas of insurance, law, finance, and risk management. 

Mr. Gentile began his career in executive search in 1997 with Korn/Ferry International and has conducted assignments across the broader financial services industry including insurance carriers, reinsurers, banks, broker dealers, mutual funds, asset managers, and third party distributors.

He has specific expertise in such functional areas as senior general management, sales and marketing, finance, audit, regulatory compliance, underwriting, actuarial, operations, customer service, credit risk, treasury risk, and insurance risk, as well as a variety of legal areas ranging from General Counsel to tax law.  Mr. Gentile has worked with both large and small companies and has developed a devoted clientele within his fields of expertise.

Previous professional experience includes Chief Compliance Officer with American General Financial, a variety of field and home office positions with MetLife, partner in a midsize advertising firm, and the practice of law with a commercial litigation firm. 

Mr. Gentile holds an undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida, a Doctorate in Finance from the University of South Florida, and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall School of Law.
