Melanie J. McFarland commenced her career in marketing and business development within the telecommunications and information technology consulting sector.  She has particular expertise in marketing, strategy and operations.  Her industry reach includes information technology and telecom, financial services, real estate, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, government, media, and more.  She has held regional roles while living in Europe and Asia, including Japan.

Before joining ESGI, Ms. McFarland worked to pioneer solutions featuring Swedish multi-functional technologies associated with wireless digital pen and paper solutions including pen, paper, server and print technologies to the Asia Pacific and MNC market focusing on business process re-engineering and change management.

Ms. McFarland is a member of the Board of Governors for the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Hong Kong, past Chairman of the IT & Telecom Committee and involved with the Real Estate, Environment as well as Intellectual Property committees.  She currently serves as Co-Chair of the International Committee for Internet Professional Association (iProA), Hong Kongand is the Chair of the Women in Technology International(WITI) Hong Kong Network and is also a member of the Global Executive Network (GEN) for WITI. She is a current member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) as well as the Society of Industry Leaders (SIL).

Born and educated in the United States Ms. McFarland holds a B.A. in Economics from Earlham College.
